Turmeric, lemon and ginger water

We all know how good lemon water is for you -but…have you heard of the powerful benefits of turmeric? This is a very powerful anti-inflammatory drink I learned from my sister (it is literally always in her fridge). A delicious anti-inflammatory drink to enjoy all year round!

WHAT IS TUMERIC?

Turmeric is a popular spice that has long been used for its medicinal benefits. The primary active component of turmeric is the spice called curcumin (and what gives it its yellow appearance). Curcumin is a natural anti-oxidant that offer inflammatory properties. Research has shown that curcumin may be beneficial for numerous disease processes such as heart disease, arthritis, depression and may even be helpful in the prevention of various types of cancer. The more anti-inflammatory components we can get into the diet – the better!

WHY ARE LEMONS SO HEALTHY?

Lemons are rich in vitamin C and have long been touted as being effective for ridding toxins from the body. In addition, lemons are rich in vitamin b6, antioxidants, copper, potassium and several other minerals. To the surprise of many, lemons can also help to ward-off indigestion and several gut-related troubles. Lemon also has anti-ageing and anti-inflammatory properties.

I would love to drink lemon water but I have acid reflux. There are a lot of fruit that I can’t eat. Do you have any other suggestions.
