I love smoothies for an easy grab-and-go breakfast or a protein-packed snack. It’s so convenient to keep frozen fruit and chopped up veggies in the freezer to pop out and into the blender to create a healthy, nutrient dense meal in just a few minutes. Here are my top 3 favourite healthy smoothies that I have been making on repeat over the past couple of months!
Creamy Avocado Banana Smoothie
Ingredients:
- ½ ripe banana
- ¼ ripe avocado
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I love Genuine Health Fermented Organic Vegan Proteins+)
- 1 large handful of your greens of choice (spinach, kale, rainbow chard – frozen is great)
- 1 cup unsweetened almond or coconut milk
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds or ground flax seed
Directions:
Add all ingredients to your blender and pulse until smooth. Pour into a large glass, add ice and enjoy!
Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookie Smoothie
Ingredients:
- ½ banana (frozen)
- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 3 tablespoons rolled oats
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground ginger
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
Directions:
Add all ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Pour into a glass, add ice, top with additional cinnamon and enjoy!
Cooling Mint Cacao Smoothie
Ingredients:
- ½ banana (frozen & diced)
- 1 cup packed organic spinach leaves
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 scoop protein powder (vanilla or plain)
- 5 fresh mint leaves OR ¼ teaspoon mint/peppermint extract
- 1 tablespoon Cacao nibs (or vegan chocolate chips)
Directions:
Add all ingredients (except cacao nibs) to your blender and blend until smooth. Add cacao nibs, pulse a couple of times and then pour into a glass with ice and enjoy!
